Victory!

The U.S. Supreme Court says Americans have a right to own guns for self-defense and hunting, the justices’ first major pronouncement on gun rights in U.S. history. And thank God that 5 out of 9 of those idiots had enough sense to understand the historical context of the 2nd amendment. It blows me away that it was that close of a contest. The 4 dissenters did not even touch on the subject of historical context and their explanation for dissension was weak. Justice John Paul Stevens wrote that the majority “would have us believe that over 200 years ago, the Framers made a choice to limit the tools available to elected officials wishing to regulate civilian uses of weapons.” He said such evidence “is nowhere to be found.” What the hell is he even talking about? The Framers made the Amendment so that government regulation and eventual abolishing of a citizen’s right to bear arms would never happen.
Even in this victory, the SCOTUS scares the bat crap out me. They are much too powerful.

SANDPOINT — It appears the Ron Paul wing of the Idaho Republican Party has scored its first victory at the party’s state convention in this North Idaho resort town.
The state party’s platform committee voted overwhelmingly Friday to add to state platform language supporting abolishing the Federal Reserve System and pegging the dollar to gold and silver.
The idea has been championed by Ron Paul, a libertarian-leaning Republican who recently gave up his run for the presidency.
Paul won 24 percent of the vote in Idaho’s Republican primary and many of his backers are at the convention trying to pull the party to the right and get Paul delegates seated at the Republican National Convention.

4) Drive to Idaho

UPDATE: Mike Huckabee just announced a “HUCK PAC” political action league blog. ZZZzzzzzzzz
On www.mikehuckabee.com there has been a mysterious countdown clock for the last week, counting down to Tuesday April 15th at noon. Nobody seems to know what it is counting down to. Will he announce his selection as Veep? Will he announce that a new job prospect? Will he admit that he was the second gunman on the grassy knoll? I guess we will find out tomorrow at noon.
