Victory!

JJ writes,

The U.S. Supreme Court says Americans have a right to own guns for self-defense and hunting, the justices’ first major pronouncement on gun rights in U.S. history. And thank God that 5 out of 9 of those idiots had enough sense to understand the historical context of the 2nd amendment. It blows me away that it was that close of a contest. The 4 dissenters did not even touch on the subject of historical context and their explanation for dissension was weak. Justice John Paul Stevens wrote that the majority “would have us believe that over 200 years ago, the Framers made a choice to limit the tools available to elected officials wishing to regulate civilian uses of weapons.” He said such evidence “is nowhere to be found.” What the hell is he even talking about? The Framers made the Amendment so that government regulation and eventual abolishing of a citizen’s right to bear arms would never happen.

Even in this victory, the SCOTUS scares the bat crap out me. They are much too powerful.

3) Pack your belongings and family up

4) Drive to Idaho

5) Unpack your stuff in your new Idaho house

6) Enjoy your new freedoms!

Simple as that.

John Longnecker Interview

CS writes,

Once again Politics & Religion has knocked a home run, way to go Irvin and Jesse! Politics & Religion radio broadcast has an interview of John Longnecker. John has a book that is on my list to read and I am sure 3G’ers would love to listen to the interview and or read the book. The title of the book is, “Transfer of Wealth” subtitled “The Case for Nationwide Concealed Carry of Handguns”.

Listen here.(You can right click and select save as and save the mp3 to your hard drive.)

Quotes from the Author. “Freedom is personal sovereignty.”

“Armed citizenry is not a liability but an asset.”

“Nothing puts Peace and Security into their proper perspective better than the loss of personal Liberty.”

“I don’t understand . . . We gave them what they wanted.”

“The Second Amendment isn’t about Guns any more than the First Amendment is about Typewriters. It is about abuses of due process. When the Founders had won the War for our Independence, it was abuses of due process they resisted. When they wrote the Second Amendment - and the other amendments which support it - they did not write it for you and me; they wrote it for Government. And in so declaring, throughout the entire Constitution, they wrote that the Citizen is the Supreme Authority of the nation. The Founders did not imagine nor fear weapons of the future - they feared and foresaw in the future abuses of due process, and they knew that personal sovereignty had to be backed by force, and forever if the republic was to survive from one generation to the next.”

Man it makes me want to buy a Springer like JJ’s.

Another Wolf Bites the Dust

JJ writes,

Once again the Sheepdogs prevail… this time in Indianapolis, Indiana. A shopper at a grocery store pulls out his pistol and stops an armed robbery.

A grocery store customer in Indianapolis is being credited with halting an armed robbery by pulling his own weapon and pointing it at the assailant until police arrived. According to a report in the Indianapolis Star, Charlie Merrell, 51, was in a checkout line at a grocery store called Bucks IGA on the city’s south side when a “masked man jumped a nearby counter and held a gun on a store employee.” The police report cited by the newspaper said the incident happened at 5:17 in the afternoon Monday as Merrell was doing some year-end shopping. “While the suspect was demanding cash from the workers,” according to the police report, “Merrell pulled his own handgun, pointed it at the robber and ordered him to put down his weapon.” Read More

JJ writes,
COLORADO SPRINGS (from DenverPost)— Amid deafening cracks of gunfire, smoke-spewing canisters and the flight of thousands of New Life Church members, Jeanne Assam said she suddenly saw the hallways clear and a gunman come through the door. “I took cover. I identified myself. I engaged him. I took him down,” the 42-year-old former law officer and volunteer church security guard said Monday at a news conference in the Colorado Springs police station. “I just said, ‘Holy Spirit, be with me.’ I wasn’t even shaking,” Assam said. “I give the credit to God. I say this very humbly. God was with me.”

Yet another example of why we should carry everywhere… even church.

Sean Taylor Dies

JJ writes,

seantaylor Today the NFL and NFL fans mourn the loss of Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor.

“The 24-year-old player died at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he had been airlifted after the shooting early Monday, family friend Richard Sharpstein said. Sharpstein said Taylor’s father informed him of the death at about 5:30 a.m. His father called and said he was with Christ and he cried and thanked me,” said Sharpstein, Taylor’s former lawyer. “It’s a tremendously sad and unnecessary event. He was a wonderful, humble, talented young man, and had a huge life in front of him. Obviously God had other plans. Sharpstein said Taylor’s girlfriend told him the couple was awakened by loud noises, and Taylor grabbed a machete he keeps in the bedroom for protection. Someone then broke through the bedroom door and fired two shots, one missing and one hitting Taylor, Sharpstein said. Taylor’s 1-year-old daughter, Jackie, was also in the house, but neither she nor Taylor’s girlfriend was injured. Police found signs of forced entry, but have not determined if they were caused Monday or during the previous burglary.” (From Breitbart.com)

I am a Seahawks fan, but I also root for the Redskins when they play. Sean Taylor was having the best year of his short career and his team and family will miss him dearly. This is a perfect example of why it is important to be able to exersize your right to keep and bear arms for self defense purposes. You have heard the saying, “Like bringing a knife to a gunfight” right? This is exactly what happened. You cannot defend yourself with a machete. The bad guys have guns. The world is filled with evil people who don’t think twice about taking everything you have, including your life.

We pray for Sean’s family and may he rest in peace.

Super

Ted Kennedy:

We’ll miss him in Massachusetts, but he’ll be a strong leader at ATF, and I look forward to working with him on key issues on gun control

He’s referencing the acting head of ATF, Michael Sullivan.

Greeeeaaat.

Red’s Trading Post Challenge

JJ writes,

Ryan over at Red’s Trading Post challenged everyone to email all hundred of the US Senators with this email:

RE: ATF using Back Door attacks to shut down our Second Amendment Dear Senator, I wanted to make you aware of the back door attack that the ATF is conducting on our Second Amendment. From 1994-2005 the number of dealers has decreased nearly 80%; from 2001-06 the number of license revocations had increased nearly 6 times. Furthermore, the number of Firearms manufacturers from 2001-06 has decreased nearly 85%. These numbers are very alarming and I hope that you will look into this and stop this Back Door assault on our Second Amendment. Respectfully,

Well, after downloading the Firefox addon “Autofill” I was able to blaze thru them pretty quickly. Ryan’s also offering a free Red’s Trading Post coffee mug to anybody that is willing to do this.

Gun Owners Need Therapy?

JJ writes,

Now I have heard this many times in the past but just today I have read two stories with this thinking involved. Do guns owners need therapy for their mental illness? Is conservativism a diagnosable mental illness found in the DSM? Are people who believe in their RKBA psycho? Well, many liberals believe this and they are even making it well known.

Story #1: A college student gets kicked out of school and can only return after being mentally evaluated and cleared by a mental health professional. His crime: emailing administration, lobbying for on-campus gun rights.

Story #2: A man who is QUESTIONING THE LEGALITY of tactics used by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg to sue gun dealers has gotten an interesting rise outta the ole mayor. Bloomberg’s exact words: “These are sick people.”

I am here to say that gun owners do not need therapy. But Kudos to the Far Left and their campaign to persuade the American public that 2A loving folks are insane. To bad there are only 215 million privately owned guns America (compared to America’s population of 294 milllion), huh? That’s a lot of crazy people. And to you Stalinists out there: thats a whole lotta comrades to re-educate.

Yet More ATF Harassment

JJ writes,

Today Red’s Trading Post was hit with another tax payer funded audit by the ATF. This bloated government agency is doing all they can to pin something on these poor guys down in Twin Falls, Idaho. They will just not stop. They have been wasting our hard earned tax dollars for some time now by perpetuating an endless witch hunt… and to what end? The ATF wants nothing but to disenfranchise gun owners and folks who sell guns. As a conservative who believes to my core in limited government, I am highly offended by the gross use of power and money by the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.

Ryan Horsley, who is a hero to all who stand for the Second Amendment, suggests (in his last blog post) to contact the U.S. Dept of Justice:

“I ask everyone to contact the US Department of Justice; Office of the Inspector General and click on the button that states “REPORT WASTE, FRAUD OR ABUSE”. This is YOUR money that is being wasted and these are YOUR freedoms that are ultimately being destroyed by the ATF’s agenda of shutting down gun dealers.”
