Yet More ATF Harassment

JJ writes,

Today Red’s Trading Post was hit with another tax payer funded audit by the ATF. This bloated government agency is doing all they can to pin something on these poor guys down in Twin Falls, Idaho. They will just not stop. They have been wasting our hard earned tax dollars for some time now by perpetuating an endless witch hunt… and to what end? The ATF wants nothing but to disenfranchise gun owners and folks who sell guns. As a conservative who believes to my core in limited government, I am highly offended by the gross use of power and money by the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.

Ryan Horsley, who is a hero to all who stand for the Second Amendment, suggests (in his last blog post) to contact the U.S. Dept of Justice:

“I ask everyone to contact the US Department of Justice; Office of the Inspector General and click on the button that states “REPORT WASTE, FRAUD OR ABUSE”. This is YOUR money that is being wasted and these are YOUR freedoms that are ultimately being destroyed by the ATF’s agenda of shutting down gun dealers.”

The God Who Wasn’t There?

I just got done watching the most absurd trailer for an atheist documentary. I click on a large prominent banner ad located on a Reuters article I was reading and low and behold, anti-God jibberish in flashy video format. It’s funny how they use a couple small extremist quotes and clips (AKA Westboro Baptist) to generalize Christian Americans in the beginning section of the film. They then transition into a somewhat scientific, professional, narrator explaining how Christ was not the first man to be born of a virgin, hailed as King, crucified on a cross, and rose on the third day!

Now someone please help me on my history, because we all know that I am just another one of them stupidd brayn-wershed Krishtgen hayt-monngers. What other historical figure fulfilled the prophecies of Christ? They showed a couple paintings of individuals on the trailer and I didn’t know if they were eluding that these were indeed those men. “I am just another one of them stupidd brayn-wershed Krishtgen hayt-monngers.”

My guess, the creator of this film is just another Secular Progressive that hates capitalism but doesn’t hate it enough to try and make a buck off the masses of non-believers looking to find any and every excuse not to kneel and worship Jesus Christ < -possibly a run-on sentence. I wouldn’t know. Iyes bee stuppidd.

Scam Targeting Vulnerable Military Spouses …

BlueCollarMuse writes,

I remember an incident from almost 15 years ago. I had just left to run an errand with my young son when a predator called my house. When my wife answered the phone, a man told her that he had both me and our son and unless my wife would engage in phone sex with him, he would hurt us.

Thankfully, M’Lady K had the presence of mind and common sense to push back her fear and see through the scam. It was by no means easy, especially since she struggled with fear a great deal at that time, but she did it. She ran next door and the man of that house pretended to be me coming back home. It turned out the caller was an inmate in an out of state prison with a few minutes of phone privileges left who randomly dialed our number. While we were randomly selected, the intent to savage another human being for selfish gain using their love for their family was both intentional and despicable.

You expect that sort of exploitation from scum in prison. You’d think that those on the outside would be more caring, thoughtful and law abiding. You’d be wrong. The scum are at it again. And once again, it’s intentional. This time, the target isn’t housewives - it’s military wives and they are phishing as identity thieves. Thanks to Mike at Lamplighter for pointing me to this story.

According to the Red Cross, whose name and reputation are used for credibility in the scam, it works like this:

The caller (young-sounding, American accent) calls a military spouse and identifies herself as a representative from the Red Cross. The caller states that the spouse’s husband (not identified by name) was hurt while on duty in Iraq and was med-evacuated to a hospital in Germany. The caller stated they couldn’t start treatment until paperwork was accomplished, and that in order to start the paperwork they needed the spouse to verify her husband’s social security number and date of birth. In this case, the spouse was quick to catch on and she did not provide any information to the caller. The American Red Cross representatives typically do not contact military members/dependents directly and almost always go through a commander or first sergeant channels. Military family members are urged not to give out any personal information over the phone if contacted by unknown/unverified individuals, to include confirmation that your spouse is deployed. It is a federal crime, punishable by up to 5 years in prison, for a person to falsely or fraudulently pretend to be a member of, or an agent for, the American National Red Cross for the purpose of soliciting, collecting, or receiving money or material. In addition, American Red Cross representatives will contact military members/dependents directly only in response to an emergency message initiated by your family. The Red Cross does not report any type of casualty information to family members. The Department of Defense will contact families directly if their military member has been injured. Should any military family member receive such a call, they are urged to report it to their local Family Readiness Group or Military Personnel Flight.

These con men play on the deepest fear and worst nightmare a military spouse has. Pass this on to any military families you know and let’s get the word out on this one. Snopes.com posted this at their site just yesterday.

Thinking while our guys are fighting for what is precious to us over there, the least we can do is keep an eye out for what is precious to them back here …

Ice Cold Kool-Aid At NIC

JJ writes,

Ok, I know I don’t usually regurgitate news here on 3G just for the sake of regurgitating, but I thought this was a noteworthy story since it’s right here in my backyard. Well, I guess a English professor out here at North Idaho College (where my mom and sister went to school) by the name of Jessica Bryan, has a bad habit of “Conservative Bashing” in her classroom. Now as fun as liberal bashing is, I would never call for the execution of all folks who voted Democrat… but this precisely what she did; Except she thought Republicans should be shot.

Now this type of hate speech is certainly not acceptable, especially in a English classroom and in Idaho of all states. Well this lady sure does wish she could take back some of her liberwocky:

From WND: Among the allegations: Bryan reported President George W. Bush won the election “because people … can’t read,” and, regarding the death penalty: “First we line up everyone who can’t think and right behind them, anyone who’s ever voted Republican.”

Now I guess, from reading the Headline article on WND, that the Feds are being asked to step in because Ms Bryan has been receiving some nasty little emails. They stepped up security and have changed her email and phone number. Here is just a few excerpt from very pissed off Right Wingers:

“You contemptuous excuse for an instructor. If you are trying to start another civil war and it comes about, I hope your family will be targeted first. As a Republican, I take umbrage at your suggestion that I should be shot. You’ll find that Republicans can shoot back.” “Screw you, communist (expletive deleted). Even though you are entitled to your opinion we all have freedom to vote anyway we please. You would do well teaching in Iran hating Jews. Bottom line I feel the same way about liberal (expletive deleted) such as you.” “I hope you lose your position and cease poisoning the flower of our future who enroll in your class with your leftist indoctrination.” “Pray that there’s never a right-wing coup d’etat in this beautiful nation [because] you’ll be one of the first ones floating in a river like your cronies did in Argentina and Chile.”

I know that Ms Bryan’s statements are a bit on the fringe, kool-aide drinking, left side of the fence, but that doesn’t mean we have to be just as crazy. I wish we would do exactly as these students did and challenge dipsticks like her, but let’s be careful not sink to her level.

JJ, out.

Gun Grabbing Governor …

BlueCollarMuse writes,

Sometimes things happen you didn’t plan on or that you knew were possible but considered unlikely. Unexpected events are, by nature, Ooo, I don’t know …unexpected? I thought of this Thursday morning, on my way in to work just before dawn, headed to my favorite gas station for fuel and morning coffee.

The station was closed as was a main artery headed into town. Two drunk teens ran a redlight and caused an accident. Their car was almost unrecognizable as a vehicle and they were airlifted to a local trauma unit. They hit a car forcing it into the gas station where it hit another car, smashing car two into the building. Then car one skidded into the gas pumps, almost collapsing the canopy onto the pumps and patrons below.

Definitely unexpected.

Hurricane Katrina was unexpected, too, though not unplanned for. So was the recent Asian tsunami. These two events are much larger than an auto accident but serve to remind us the world around us, macro and micro, holds some nasty surprises. Smart people take steps to prepare for them. In considering larger scale surprises, some stock up food and water, others buy generators and fuel while others establish support networks.

One of the wisest things you can do is avail yourself of your 2nd Amendment rights and arm yourself. If you have been the prudent ant and stockpiled, there will likely be a shiftless grasshopper in the neighborhood looking to play a little catch up. Being able to defend what you and your family have accumulated for your own protection and survival is a common sense part of your overall plan. Unless, of course, you live in Tennessee.

When I got home from work late Thursday, this nugget was waiting in my inbox from TeamGOP. It’s a press release from TN State Senator Mark Norris concerning TN Governor Phil Bredesen’s response to Norris’ proposed legislation. It reads in part:

NASHVILLE - The Bredesen Administration expressed opposition to Senate Majority Leader Mark Norris’ legislation limiting the Governor’s power to confiscate firearms and restrict the sale of ammunition during declared emergencies. Senate Bill 1597 would prohibit the Governor from confiscating weapons from law-abiding citizens or restricting the ability to purchase guns and ammunition during times of natural disaster or declared emergency. Most of the public is unaware that the Governor currently holds this statutory seizure authority. Norris said he received a letter from Mary Freeman, the Governor’s Director of Legislation, requesting he “consider halting further action” on Senate Bill 1597. The letter states they “disagree with the intent of this legislation and therefore cannot support it.” Norris said he simply wants to protect Tennesseans’ basic constitutional rights. “The Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms is never more precious than during natural disasters or declared emergencies when self defense can be the key to survival,” Norris said. “The Hurricane Katrina disaster was a wake-up call that this could happen.” In New Orleans, governmental confiscation of citizens’ arms sparked outrage in the aftermath of Katrina. A federal judge later enjoined the City of New Orleans from violating Second Amendment rights after the National Rifle Association (NRA) filed suit. “New Orleans citizens in lawful possession of weapons to protect their homes and families were forced to surrender those arms,” Norris said. “We do not want a repeat of that scenario in Tennessee. The ability to defend one’s home place and family in the absence of adequate law enforcement is essential.”

Count me in the group ignorant of the Governor’s authority to demand I surrender my lawfully owned firearms. I’m stunned to find that such authority exists. My first response is of the Hollywood vapid blonde variety, “Hellloooo …. we have, like, the ConstiTUtion!!”

Once the outrage wore off, I looked at the language and was immediately angry again. The Governor disagreed “with the intent of the legislation”. What?!? As TeamGOP’s intro to the press release stated:

When Gov. Phil Bredesen is out in public, he is surrounded by brave men and women of the Tennessee Highway Patrol who, of course, are armed. Any law abiding citizen deserves the same right and the same protection.

Is our state’s Chief Executive intending to give up his protection in the event of a crisis? Sounds ridiculous to even ask the question doesn’t it? Why does he disagree with my intent to protect my family from the same people he needs protection from?

As usual, the Gov’s intent only harms law abiding citizens with legally owned firearms. To confiscate them they first must know where they are. As we are law abiding, we’ve registered ours in accordance with the law. The bad guys, the ones we need protection from, will have no one knocking on their door to take their weapons since they are illegally acquired. Then, when they come for me and mine, I’m powerless to defend my own family and home.

I know we are unlikely to have hurricanes here, but we do have tornados. Sometimes, lots and lots of tornados. We’ve had areas declared ‘emergency areas’ before for floods and the like. And, lest we forget, Tennessee is on the New Madras fault, one of the largest earthquake fault lines anywhere. It wasn’t all that long ago that we had an earthquake here so strong it made the Mississippi River run BACKWARDS for a time. I’d say that qualifies as a natural disaster.

Contact Mark Norris and tell him thanks for looking out for us and to keep up the pressure. And contact Phil “Just Call Me Carpetbagger” Bredesen and tell him to keep his mitts off our muskets!

Keeping my powder dry, just in case …

Good-Bye Google

CS writes,

I’ve always enjoyed using Google ever since my college days when my Professor intro’d it to the class as the best search engine. After using it a bit I agreed. No longer. World Net Daily has an article Google no-show for Veterans Day. Maybe they can do a search on what it means to be a Freedom promoting company. Instead they have been biased toward the leftists that is selling our country out.

I make a statement now, no more Google for me. Yahoo, maybe even MSN, but Good-Bye Google.

Thank you Veterans, from all of us here at 3G. God Bless you for your contribution to our freedom. May we ever endeavor to preserve it.

The Internet Sucks

JJ writes,

I’m just at a loss right now. My frustration has hit a all-time high in regards to the internet. Why does there have to be so much smut and trash on here? For example, I logged in to my MySpace account (something I rarely do these days, and for good reason) to check my emails, comments, friends request, etc. I clicked on a profile and I was hotlinked forwarded (or whatever it is called) to an adult movie site. MySpace has pissed me off for the last time. They have so many users it is virtually impossible to control what people put on there.

Sites like these are just too dangerous for guys like me. They are too dangerous for most everyone. Today I spent a few hours trying to find a site that offers free hosting of media, like images and video, with the ability to share your videos through embedding into your blog posts. It zaps too much bandwidth to host my movies on my own server space. I must have went through two or three dozen different sites. Most every single site contained uploaded videos with adult content… even though many of them have no xxx and adult themes policies. The few that seemed ok were just so limited on upload space and ease of use.

I tried: Youtube, iFilm, MySpace, Putfile, ZippyVideo, OurMedia, ImageCabin, Photobucket, VidLife, GoogleVideo, Bolt, etc, etc. Either they allow adult content or they don’t enforce their anti-smut policies. I think I am done trying to search for one. I have seen more than I need to already. Just last week I clicked on a video I had uploaded in Putfile and there was a banner ad which showed thumbs of different videos people have uploaded into Putfile. One of the thumbnailed links was a picture of a couple having sex! What if my wife or my in-laws were to check out my video and seen that banner add on the side of the page? I have already contacted Putfile and have yet to receive a response. I am deleting my account with them, and I think I am going to delete my MySpace profile, too.

Those of you scanning the net looking for somewhere to put your vids and pics, BEWARE! Stay away from these sites.

(If anyone already knows of a site like these that is family friendly please let me know. )

MayDay Madness

JJ writes,

So the mass illegal walkout came and went… so what happened to their supposed econmic shutdown? Yeeeaaaaa… Tancredo sounds off on Fox News.

I think Teddy said it best:

“In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man’s becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American…There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile…We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language…and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.” Theodore Roosevelt 1907

Google Censors

JJ writes,

One of my most favorite blogs of all time, “The People’s Cube” has been recently ixnayd, vamoosed, erased from the popular search engine Google. Now I have been on the brink of boycotting Google for some time now (especially after their China bullcrap)… but I couldn’t find it in myself to delete my gmail email accounts and use MSN or Yahoo Search. But the more I hear about Google the closer I get to telling them (and their advisor board member Al Gore) to stick it where the sun don’t shine. It amazes me that they find it nessessary to censor websites like The People’s Cube BUT you can surf for porn all day long utilizing their services. Conservative weblogs are bad and porn sites are ok?????? I wonder how long it will take for them to erase my site? I need some duct tape.

Illegals-advocates to stalk kids

Day-labor center strikes back at border group, plans to picket members’ homes, schools, jobs

JJ writes,

Can somebody send me a giant freaking roll of duct tape becauce if my head explodes and I make a mess on the carpet, the wife is gunna be pissed at me. And if it does explode it will be a direct result from the article I just read on WND entitled “Illegals-advocate group to stalk Minutemen kids.

Let me break this down reeeaall simple like: A group of idiots illegal advocates in Maryland, who call themselves Casa of Maryland, plan on picketting the homes of the Maryland Minutemen and the schools of their children. Why? Because they are angry, angry, liberals who can’t deal with the Maryland Minutemen’s objective. MM’s objective is to simply find companies and contractors who are breaking federal law by hiring illegal aliens. What wrong with enforceing federal law? Well, Casa of Maryland thinks that the Minutemen are using (dare I say) “extremist” methods by disenfranchising immigrants. Gustavo Torres, executive director of Casa de Maryland told the Maryland Gazette,

“If they are going to do this to us, we are going to respond in the same way, to let people know their neighbors are extremists, that they are anti-immigrant. They are going to hear from us.”

First off the Minutemen Project is not anti-immigrant, Mr. Torres (as if that’s your reeeeaall name). They are anti-ILLEGAL immigrant. You might not see that as a big difference, but we do. And so does the law. These knuckleheads at CASA are even funded by government monies. Yes that’s right… American taxes are helping fund an organization that helps illegal immigrants find jobs where THEY DON”T HAVE TO PAY TAXES! WTF(what-the-frick)?
