Marx or Thompson for Pres

CS writes,

Run Thompson run!!! Most of us know that we are already in the hunt for the next President of the US of A. Many of us consider this race more important than any in recent memory. It seems our nation is a cross road and must decide what direction we will take. The candidates who are in the conservative corner are, Mitt Romney, Rudy Giulioni, and John McCain. I’m already snoring. As for this first lot of candidates the only one who has strong conservative values is Mitt. He has my vote unless… Fred Thompson enters the race.

A native of Tennessee… Lawrenceburg to be exact. He holds the torch for a clear conservative future. Reagan’s men are backing Mr. Thompson. He is a solid candidate. I know BCM has reported on this in his blog but we haven’t touched it here at 3G. It appears that Mr. Thompson will announce this week or early next week. Read this article to see why I, and many many others believe this.

We Are What We…

CS writes,

As a child it was drilled in me. “Chad, you are what you eat, so put the Snickers away and eat this apple”. My stomache would turn as would my head in a defiant shake. It is true in a large defree, if you eat right then you are healthier. Most who have read my writings may consider them the work of a halfwit and that very well may be true. My logic may be off base a little, maybe even tilted too far to the right… All jokes aside. If we are what we eat? Do we become what we think?

I love to day dream. And some of my wildest day dreams have come true. You’re probably in the same boat. Matter of fact I know you are. Much more importantly is this, you are who you are because of your thoughts and actions. You’ve heard the old adage, “Birds of a feather flock together.” That is partly true. You got to be careful of who you surround yourself with or they may bring you down with them.

Thinking is where we plan our actions, even on the subconscious level. Our thoughts can be poisoned by bad ideas. Bad ideas come in different ways, most of the time it is by peers. Paul said “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” In order to guard our hearts we must be careful of whom we choose to communicate with on an intimate level. I have enough time fighting ideas that are not given to me by others than to bring in others.

Another area of importance is entertainment. We can’t be given to entertainment that will corrupt our minds. Why? One scripture is helpful. Jesus stated that, “…but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.” We don’t want bad things coming out. We want good things. Paul gave a great way to determine what we allow into our thoughts, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

I’m struck by the sickness of our world. Then I hear some of the music that they love or movies that the world devours. Yes without Christ we are all lost and wallow in our sin, with Christ we should come out of it. I’ve asked my church recently if they would like to become the main character of their favourite movie? The blood, the lust, the lies… we love to be entertained until we become the story. Jesus saved us from the plot of destruction, yet, so many followers of Christ are tangled and frustrated because they take in what God saved them from.

Last week we all were shocked by the death and cruel killings at Virginia Tech, but the theaters were packed. The people flocked to watch “Disturbia” or some other horror type movie. What would happen if I became the movie? We condemn a killer while we get thrills watching people die for entertainment. No one actually gets hurt in the movies but the idea is there. I’m waiting for a persecution movie to hit the theaters. Of how followers of Christ laid down their lives for the cause of Christ. Read about those brave people here.

To close out this soap box session I want to just remind myself. I am the only Bible some people will ever read. I am the hands of Christ on this earth, and if you are a follower, you are his hands. I can only wish to help the hurting and warn the wayward.

Let our thoughts and prayers be directed toward Jesus our Lord, on behalf of all those who have been hurt. After you have prayed go out and get radical with your witness and tell someone the story of Jesus. Tell them the good news and help combat the sickness that is running rampant across our land!

Weight of the World

CS writes,

If one could weigh the globe it would be an astronomical sum. However, there is a weight that far exceeds nature. This weight bends the will of man into a twisted and degraded form. The constant weight manipulates the natural course decisions into a course of selfish impulse. We’ve all encountered people who will turn bread money into dope money and the family goes hungry. I have even talked with people who has specifically stated, “My drugs and my beer are before my family.” What a sad thing. This weight will crush the strongest man, smudge the clearest intentions, and dim the brightest star.

Yea! I’m a fundie!

JJ writes,

I am proud to say that T Olson, Chad S, and myself have been highlighted in the April section of “Fundies Say the Darndest Things!” This is truly a privilege I do not take lightly. Oh what an honor to be mocked by a bunch of pimply faced gothic teens who live in their mother’s basement. I was however disappointed that my 3G photo did not win the “Rambo Jesus Award” but I don’t want to get too greedy, now do I?

Sigh… yawn…

Here are some of the comments I received on my 3G photo:

Heather says: “Oh. My. God. What is wrong with these people????” (JJ says: Im not quite sure Heather, God made me this way) Foster Disbelief says: “American Taliban anyone?” (JJ says: Taliban? Do you even know what the Taliban is, smart guy? Oppression and Terror. Our beliefs are complete polar opposites.) Traitor1 says: “Sweet looking gun. But the pic looks like it blongs in the NRA magazine.” (JJ says: Wipes tear from eye… that’s the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me.) Archangel_Lucifer says: “THat is one seriously cool looking gun. The bible should stay the f*** away from the constitution however.” (JJ says: Obviously this guy knows little about the men who wrote the Constitution.) wyvern says: “I can’t help but think that idiots like this never served in the military. And as a person that did I’m mildly offended.” (JJ says: I guess this fine fellow didn’t see my military awards in the background… oh well) NonProphet says: “Cake and Sodomy,” anyone? It’s not the combination in that pic that bothers me (though the lighting is a bit sinister); it’s the context on the website. Yeesh.” (JJ says: I think it’s great when these people make the Marylin Manson reference about me. They don’t understand that is such a wonderful compliment.)

Down In Yon Forest

JJ writes,

Hattip to Chad C for showing me this amazing song. It took all I could do not to weep while listening to it. Enjoy this little jem.

Down in yon forest there stands a hall Bells of paradise I hear them ring It’s gilded all over with purple and pall And I love my Lord Jesus above anything

Down in that hall there lay a bed Voices of heaven here in my head All scarlet the cover that over it spread And I love my Lord Jesus above anything

Down under that bed there runs a flood Bells of heaven I hear them ring Half run in water Half run in blood And I love my Lord Jesus above anything

Down at the bed feet there grows a thorn Voices of heaven I hear them sing It blooms its white blossoms the day he was born And I love my Lord Jesus above anything

Robot Abortions?

JJ writes,

A fellow Transformers fan decided to visit my personal blog CuttMedia.com and posed an interesting question about my post regarding abortion. Naturally this is silly jibberish but read our exchange:

Optimus Primate on April 1st, 2007 10:39 am e This is interesting, but what are your viewpoints on abortion as applied to robots? Should the rights of Autobots, or even Decepticons to abort be abridged? There is a petition here that says it shouldn’t: http://www.blackpitchpress.com/choice/ If you think Yes, it is OK to abort robots, but not to abort people, then you have an ethical dilemma on your hands when the day comes that people give birth to robots.
JJ on April 1st, 2007 11:37 pm e If this wasn’t such a serious topic I would have just chuckled a bit… because this is kinda funny. I was going to check out your crazy petition just for fun but my content filter blocked the site… oh darn it all. But here is my take: To abort an Autobot is to abort a friend, but to abort a Decepticon should be viewed as a preventive measure. You see I am a conservative that values the pro-interventionist policy. Kill them before they kill us. To end the life of a Decepticon would be to save innocent life on Earth and other friendly dwelling planets. Of course I am being a bit silly. But here is something to think about: As bass-ackwards as the Democrats are on (um… just about everything), Do you think that they would take up arms to defend the unborn Decepticons… even though it could mean their demise? It’s not such a far fetch question since in reality they defend every Anti-American group on the planet. Things to make ya go Hmmmmm?
