He started his music career in Fargo, North Dakota at the age 14 but sounded like a 40 year old blues veteran. Smokin’ was his first album followed by his solo debut Lie To Me. He has been recognized as an accomplished guitarists by such amateurs as Eric Clapton. Living a life on the run living it up and enjoying sin for a season. God has caught up with him. Jonny Lang is now a born again believer. His latest album, Turn Around, says it best;

I grew-up singing songs in church, with questions in my mind / And turned my back and ran away, from God who gave me life / Then one night His presence fell, I wept and shook and then / I fell down and cried “Dear Jesus rescue me again, I understand, / I am only a man.

Sounds like a man who has been converted. At the top of his game he had a Turn Around. I recommend you buy this album if you support artists who are not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

A soft hymnal styled song called That Great Day reads;

Down into the water- children, mothers, and fathers in His sweet name / To drown all our sins and come up again forever changed

Man… its rare that a “christian” artist sing with such Biblical honesty much less a converted blues man. Turn Around can get just a bit rocky in some places but it has a sound message of Salvation. It is like he is reaching a hand out to a hurting fan and helping them out of the mire of sin. As a side not he and his friend, Jesse Woodrow, has been teaching and reaching their generation with the unchanging powerful message of Jesus Christ. Ironically Jesse Woodrow is a hollywood child that has been born again as well.

So he wants to take the Oath while placing his hand on the Quran? Last I checked we do live in the US and people do have freedom of religion. I say go ahead and let him take the oath on his sacred book. We stand for freedom of religion, as bad as I disagree with Islam, I do believe they have a right to worship their Moon God. (more…)
